Some good news! TransferGo and BLIK have just launched fee-free instant money transfers from Poland to Ukraine. Now customers can send money with TransferGo BLIK in Poland to bank accounts in Ukraine at unbeatable rates within just one hour.

This milestone collaboration signifies a decade of financial inclusion and innovation, reinforcing our solidarity with Ukraine and our unwavering efforts to make international money transfers easier, faster and more accessible for the millions of Ukrainians living in Poland.

Curious about BLIK and how TransferGo BLIK works? Read on for everything you need to know.

What is BLIK?

Founded in 2015, BLIK is a Poland-based payments network that enables quick payments online and in store. It also enables ATM cash withdrawals and deposits and facilitates instant money transfers to friends and family using just a phone number.

When you pay using BLIK, you don’t need a payment card or wallet. All you need is a phone with an internet connection and your bank’s app.

BLIK payments are completely secure with a number of safety features in place to protect your money. Each BLIK code is centrally managed by Polski Standard Płatności, the operator of BLIK, and is valid for just two minutes. This, plus customer verification processes and tokenisation technology which replaces your sensitive data with a unique string of characters, keep your transactions secure.

Top tip! Always check the details before confirming your transaction. Oh, and never share your BLIK code with other people.

How to make a BLIK transfer

Making a TransferGo BLIK transfer is easy and safe and there’s no need to enter your bank details to pay. All you need to do is select ‘BLIK → bank’ as your payment method and your bank app will generate a one-time, six-digit BLIK code. Simply enter this code during your payment page and confirm your transaction.

Not only will using BLIK on TransferGo guarantee you incredible value with the best exchange rate available, but your money will arrive within the hour. Each BLIK code is valid for two minutes. After that time, you’ll need to generate a new one.

Top tip! Changing your payment method to BLIK is easy in the TransferGo app. Simply tap the blue ‘change’ button when setting up your transfer.

Does TransferGo have BLIK?

Yes! TransferGo BLIK payments were launched on TransferGo in August 2023. Since the launch, customers in Poland no longer need to insert their bank details when they pay. All they need is their six-digit BLIK code.

At the time of the launch, our Global Relationship Manager, Dorota Dyakowska said: “We’re pleased to have introduced BLIK for TransferGo customers. We realise how important it is to provide our customers with the opportunity to choose all available payment methods.

“BLIK is the settlement method most frequently chosen by Poles. It’s also become very popular among immigrants living and working in Poland who use our services.”

How BLIK works with TransferGo

The TransferGo BLIK partnership has surged with almost a quarter of a million TransferGo users completing over 2.3 million transactions to Ukraine to date. The share of these transactions in total money transfers from Poland to Ukraine has more than doubled in the last two years, rising from 29% in 2023 to an impressive 66% in 2025.

Fees for using BLIK depend on the bank whose application you’re using but rest assured that all transfers from Poland to Ukrainian bank accounts are free with the TransferGo BLIK payment method. This means that TransferGo customers in Poland won’t have to pay fees to send money to their families and friends in Ukraine. We’ve also increased the speed of payments from one working day to one hour. And we make sure the customer gets the best market-leading rate every time.

Speaking about this latest development, our CEO and Co-Founder, Daumantas Dvilinskas says: “We remain committed to supporting our friends in Ukraine. We value our customers’ trust and will always have their backs. Starting today, residents of Poland can instantly send their hard-earned money to their families and friends in Ukraine without facing a financial burden. This opportunity will allow even more people to take advantage of financial innovation and maintain valuable connections.

“Acknowledging the uncertain times in Ukraine and recognising the importance of mutual trust with our customers, we are not only removing fees and adding speed but also expanding to provide a full range of in-demand financial services.”

Where to find a BLIK code

BLIK codes mainly work in Poland and require a bank account with a Polish bank that supports it. For customers without a Polish bank account, BLIK payments aren’t an option.

Each BLIK code is a one-off, six-digit code that can be found in your bank’s app. To start your BLIK payment with TransferGo, simply select BLIK as your payment method when making a transfer. Your bank app will then generate a code, which you’ll need to enter on the payment page. Confirm your transaction in your banking app and the payment will complete.

Top tip! Don’t forget—each BLIK code is valid for two minutes; after that time, you’ll need to generate a new one.
